About me

Marc van Ingen (Amsterdam, 1953)

I grew up with photography. For as long as I can remember it was my father who wielded the camera, shooting short movies and taking pictures. A boy, just 12 years old, I was introduced to the secrets of diaphragm, shutter speed and the darkroom. During the 70’s this all stopped. I Studied at the University of Utrecht (Andragology), a successful career as a health care manager followed. This was the time that my wife Ina and I, took pictures and slides (with an Olympus OM-1), recorded videos of our holidays and our young family. That’s the way it goes…

After the passing of my father in 2005, I bought my first digital SLR, a Nikon D70s. Partially a tribute to my father. Once more, I took up the old love for photography, also as a counterweight to the hustle and bustle of my work as a manager. In 2011-2013, I completed a course of professional photography at Syntra in Hasselt (Belgium). Here, I familiarized myself particularly with studio photography (portrait and product photography). In 2013-2018 I completed photo art at the Art Academy in Maasmechelen (Belgium). Currently, my interest is mainly in the area of social/society, street and travel photography.

At the moment I use a Nikon D500 and a Fuji X-100 F

I live in Maasgouw, Limburg – the Netherlands
